DRAGON was born where the price of an error was critical.
The DRAGON algorithmic language was created to control the most complex systems of the Soviet reusable space shuttle “Buran”. “Buran” is in the Guinness Book of Records as the only shuttle in the world that was able to make a fully automatic flight and landing without a crew.
The goal of the program was to create a domestic system that would allow to make regular flights into open space and back. This ambitious task required the combined efforts of engineers, designers, cosmonauts, biologists, programmers, and dozens of other specialists. However, they spoke "different languages" - each with their own professional code.
To facilitate effective communication among all project participants, the DRAGON visual modeling language was developed.

Its mission is to teach people of different professions to speak a common, universal language.
Unlike other languages, DRAGON is the only one that was designed specifically for the convenience of the human brain. It is based on the principles of cognitive psychology, making its diagrams easy to read and understand even for non-experts.
The method has since been applied in medicine and industry, where clarity saves time, resources, and lives.
Inspired by the successful implementation of Dragon-methods in fields such as the design of the “Buran” and medical education, I realized that these tools should not be lost.
